I wonder how this lens stacks up to the older 14-45mm that came with earlier G series cameras (does anyone know?). I know that the 14-45mm has a metal mount, but so far I'm finding the plastic mount just fine (it probably makes the lens lighter too) compared to the 20mm 1.7 's metal mount. Slides in just as smooth. The zooming mechanism on this lens is not as smooth as I hoped for which is also accompanied by noise which you WILL hear if you're doing video work.
